This is the sleep & mood formula that we’ve been wanting. It doesn’t have melatonin in it, rather it has serotonin precursors, which then produces melatonin naturally. Here are the ingredients and what they do. Or read more in our introducing SleepElite.
Tryptophan – is a naturally occurring amino acid that is partially responsible for that urge to sleep after eating turkey at Thanksgiving dinner.
5-HTP – 5-Hydroxytryptophan is a naturally occurring derivative to the amino acid, tryptophan, and chemical precursor as well as a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin.
Berberine – Is a plant-based chemical proven to increase serotonin and dopamine. We’ve talked about this extensively here and here.
B6 P5P – Pyridoxal-5-phosphate or pyridoxine is the methylated form of vitamin B6. People with mood issues often are deficient in vitamin B6 due to their difficulty in methylating their B vitamins.
TMG – Trimethylglycine is a molecule which, structurally, is the amino acid glycine with three methyl groups attached to it. It is known as a ‘betaine’ molecule. It is used in this formula as a methyl group donor in order help facilitate the methylation of B vitamins.
Ashwaganda – Is a root whose extract has been used to promote sleep in the Ayurvedic tradition for thousands of years. showed it to improve sleep quality in 30% of healthy individuals.
Broccoli Seed Complex – This is our BrocElite® powder. There are no studies on sulforaphane and sleep. However, biohackers among you pretty quickly told us that it improved your deep sleep. Sulforaphane is known to epigentically upregulate brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is at the center of brain health, and happens to give you vivid dreams!
