5-MTHF

5-MTHF is the most stable, safe and bioeffective, active form of folate or ‘folic acid.’ An adequate intake of folate is essential for normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy, normal blood formation and normal psychological function.

Folate is a water-soluble B vitamin that occurs naturally in food, such as leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits, dried beans, and peas.

L-5-methylfolate (5-MTHF) requires no additional metabolic steps to be used by the body, it is easily absorbed and used by cells.

Folate acts like a master switch for a process in the body called the methylation cycle. The methylation cycle is the mechanism that allows the “cogs” in our body to turn by switching on and off the individual biological powers for a host of body systems.*
