Sage has been used by herbalists for centuries but is better known today for its use in cooking. However, sage is a potent herb with some interesting natural ingredients. Recently sage has become a popular ingredient in supplements for women going through the menopause. Each of these Lamberts® Sage tablets provides the equivalent of 2.5g of dried herb. We insist on a high grade sage extract that has a guaranteed level of 2.5% rosmarinic acid (the ‘active’ compound in sage). Sage also contains an unpleasant naturally occurring compound called thujone, but the sage extract we use in this Lamberts® product is carefully manufactured to have very low, insignificant levels of thujone.
