Cod liver oil, as the name implies, comes directly from the liver of codfish and is a specific type of fish oil. Like regular fish oil, it is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which provide many great health benefits for your heart, skin and brain. However, cod liver is also high in naturally occurring vitamin A and vitamin D, giving cod liver oil an incredibly nutritious profile.

This unique, naturally occurring composition follows a proprietary short-path distillation process to remove any harmful toxins, PCBs, and pesticides, while maintaining it’s natural levels of vitamin A and D. This process is done at very low temperatures with no exposure to any chemicals or oxygen to maintain maximum bioactivity and freshness.*
The oil is Marine Stewardship Certified and extracted exclusively from sustainable, wild-caught Cod from the clean waters of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
The livers are extracted and frozen at -20 degrees Fahrenheit directly on the fishing vessel and immediately after the Cod is long-line caught (within about 20 minutes). This is particularly important to stop liver’s natural enzymatic function and degradation and avoids oxidation.
